Dear Sirs:

I recently returned from a seven week bike trip to follow the route of Lewis and Clark from St. Louis, MO to Astoria, OR. The event was organied by XXXXX Tours out of Denver to coincide with the bicentennial of the Lewis and Clark Expedition.

I rode the entire 3300+ miles on a pair of Velomax Orion’s (I’m a 190lb rider) that I purchased in 2000. By the start of the trip, they had probably 10,000 miles on them. Through the course of the trip, we rode on roads, both good and bad, on hard-pack dirt, on gravel, etc. The wheels remain in perfect working order and have yet to require a spoke replacement or even a truing. Many other riders on the expedition, even those with brand new wheel sets, experienced all the problems mentioned above.

I wanted to drop a letter to express my sincere thanks for your excellent product and for helping to make the trip an incredible experience. I do wonder how amazing your newer models must be as they are improvements over the generation I have.

Regards,
Anthony Patalocchi

Dear Velomax,

I just recently purchased a pair Velomax Circuit wheels for a De Rosa King that I purchased for my wife. Overall I will have to say that it is one of the best engineered, spec’d and built set of wheels that I have ever laid my hands on. I bought the wheels with a build kit from Colorado Cyclist and had no real experience with any of your products. To say the least I was pleasantly surprised. In my past prior to working at Intel Corp, I worked as a bike mechanic at various bike shops here in Albuquerque, NM and also in Boulder, Colorado. My credentials also include the following; Mechanic Norwegian Women’s National Team Olympics 1984, Coors Classic 1985, Coors Classic 1986, Mechanic Buccaneer Cycling Team 1985, Mechanic Norwegian National Team Men’s & Women’s World Championships 1986, Mechanic Lowrey’s Lowenbrau Ore Ida 1987, Mechanic Ten Speed Drive Tour of Texas 1988. I have also had Campagnolo Certified Mechanics Certification, DT Spokes Wheelbuilders Certification, Rockshox Certified Technician, USCF Category 2 Mechanic, ACA Cat 3 Mechanic. In total I have had close to 16 years of experience in the bicycle industry and on top of that kept a diary of all of the wheels that I have build over the years which was close to 500 individual wheels. (I build wheels specifically at a number of shops I worked at.)

I don’t give praise lightly, and as you can see from the above I have been around the block in the cycling world. Anyway thank you for such a great and affordable product, please keep up the good work.

Also if you all ever need a tester who can put your wheels to the brink of destruction I know the person for you. He is a friend of mine 6’6” and 245lbs. I know that when I build a set for him they will be put to hard work.

Sincerely,

George Tapley

Dear Velomax, I have been riding the Circuit Comps since the first of the year. The wheels are strong & track straight. I've trued the rear once but that's probably because I'm a Off Road triathlete & only ride road for training (read :I'm hard on my stuff!). Today the front wheel fell off my SUV while going down the interstate. I was going 75mph when I looked back & saw it bouncing & rolling down the road. I could not believe the wheel was still in perfect cond. when I found it. Let me know when you start building MTB wheels. I'll first in line. Keep up the great work.

Dear Velomax,

Met the owner of Velomax in Philadelphia at the USPROs and bent his ear about my Velomax Tempest wheels. Owned them since April 2002. Ridden at least 10,000 miles since. Even though I weigh between 190 and 210 (or, 210 in April and 190 in September), these wheels have behaved flawlessly. I have built wheels so know what it takes to make a durable wheel but combination of durability and performance of the Velomax wheels. Have replaced the bearings (an easy, inexpensive job thanks to the telephone guidance and reassurance of Dan Reback), but the wheels have required NO adjustments whatsoever - as true and straight as the first day I rode them. They are on a Serotta Csi with full Dura-Ace and not only perform well but look great. Time for a set of new Orions. Great wheels and a great company.

I'm 47 and my steed is a Waterford R-3. I've just purchased a set of the Tempest II wheels for this bike!!! WHOA... This set-up is like a Hot Knife thru Butter, climbing, sprinting, accelerating, coasting, these wheels are "silk" and responsive. Yes, they are the BOMB! Keep up the good work fellas!

Dear Velomax,

I went through your technical information and found it extremely fascinating and indicative of your dedication to engineering a superior product. I bought a used pair of Circuit Comps from a friend and find them to be totally bulletproof, even after hitting the angled joint between a wooden bridge and pavement on a downhill at 30+ mph. Enough to loudly rattle the water bottle in the cage and I thought I would need to true the front wheel. Got off and spun the wheel. Nope, true as always. Another friend has the Ascents and is very pleased with them. When the Spinergy R-1's on my other bike go (soon, I hope), I'll be looking at a pair of Velomax's as my next wheelset. Thanks for making a great component.

Dear Velomax,

I'm a fifty seven year old coot who likes to go as fast as my old muscles and bones will take me. I like my skin where it is and prefer not to have any broken bones at the present time. My Lemond OCLV bike never felt quite safe and it didn't track very well especially on fast downhill runs. The bike seemed to go where it wanted to and not where I wanted to go. I decided that the best thing I could do for the problem was to upgrade my wheels. I bought a set of VELOMAX ORIONS. What a difference in handling! I felt safe and the bike now runs true and solid. I think about where I want to go and the bike performs perfectly. No guess work here folks! I ran my new Velomax wheels for a few months and the rear hub developed a noise that I was concerned about. I sent Velomax an email and they explained everything very well. They told me they could fix the problem faster than it took them to reply to my email. They asked me to send the wheel back for a check up. I did and I got the wheel back in five days in perfect condition without the noise. Now if I get road rash or break my arm it will be my fault and not the fault of inferior wheels. Velomax builds a quality product that I would recommend to anyone. They back their product with a quality warranty and employ a staff of folks who provide a first class company.

Thanks Velomax!

Dear Velomax,

I recently purchased a Mondonico steel frame which I have a Campagnolo Chorus gruppo on. I wanted to find a wheel that would have a classic look and still be a performer. My one dillema was that my favorite cassette is a 12-27 Shimano Dura-Ace, that I favor because of all the climbing we do up here in the wine country of Northern CA. Campagnolo does not make a cassette that has this range, so I called one of your customer service guys and had a conversation of whether a Shimano wheel would work on a Campy 9-speed setup and he assured me it would with a slight barrel adjustment on the rear derailleur. So I went ahead and bought a set of Ascent Comps. All I can say is WOW!!! Not only did they drop a half pound off the total weight of the bike, but they ride like nothing I've ever had, and the shifting is actually better than my Campy Nucleon wheels were. I have a Carbon Trek also and this steel frame accelerates up a hill with as much ease and snap as the Trek because of the Ascent Comps. And as far as durable, I hit some pretty nasty stuff on the descents and these wheels are always true at the end of the day. If anybody out there is running Campy stuff and is avoiding your wheels because of compatability fears, I'm proof that they have a real pleasant surprise coming when they use your wheels.

Thanks,

Dear Velomax,

Hello. I just wanted to write you a note about the strength of your wheels. I purchased a high-end compact road bike earlier this year which came with a set of the Circuit Comp wheels. In August, I was hit by a car while on a training ride. Or rather, I hit the car which made a left-hand turn right in front of me as I was going through an intersection. I was going over thirty miles an hour standing up on the bike when she pulled in front of me.When I hit her my front wheel and fork sheared off and I flew 25 feet over the car and impacted the pavement with my head. (Thank God for helmets!)

The ambulance came and I was carted off to the hospital.

Later that day when I was released (with very few injuries-I was very lucky) the policeman dropped by to give me what was left of my bike. The amazing thing was both wheels were fine! The front tire was a bit out of true but not really any worse for the wear, save for the fact that it wasn't attached to the bike and the skewer was a little bent. I was shocked the wheel wasn't taco'ed. Thinking of how hard I hit that car you will have a customer for life. Her insurance agency is buying me a new bike and I'll be sure to set it up with Velomax wheels. Thanks again for the safety built into your amazing wheels!

Cheers,
Michael Clark

I have had my pair of Curcuit Comps for about 6 months and over 7,000 miles on them and they are just as true as when I first got them. I ride them in the grass every once and a while and on a daily basis they go over some really rough roads and I can't believe how true they still are. They almost just as good as my Mavic Ksryuims and now I am thinking about getting a pair of Acsent Pros for my first tubular set. So thankyou for making a great wheel set. I have already recommended Velomax to scores of people of all riding abilities.

To the Velomax crew,

I have not had a chance to properly thank you for sending out the front wheel for me a few weeks ago. You saved me BIG TIME! I ended up having a great stage race, coming 7th overall, and getting enough points for my cat 2 upgrade. I can't say enough good things about your wheels. Anytime somebody asks me how I like the Velomax wheels my response is "they are the best set of wheels I have ever ridden Period!" Keep up the great work!

Hey all, I work at a local shop here in Tucson(when I am not at my day job, doctoring), Tucson Bicycles, I ride a set of Ascents which btw are PERFECT. You can add my testiomonial if you want! These are by far the best wheels I've tried, and I've been on Ksyriums, Rolf's, Bontrager, HED, etc. The lateral rigidity combined with the bump absorbing comliance makes for a magical ride. At 165 pounds and on a steel frame I can get zero flex even when out of the saddle hammering. Way to go!

Dear Velomax,

My Ascent Comps are the best upgrade I every made to my Trek 5200. I've ridden them over 3000 miles on some very rough roads along the Pacific coast without any problems: no broken spokes, no out-of-true, no bearing wear. My Ascent Comps are a full 1 pound lighter than the Rolf Vector Comps that came standard on the Trek. The positive differences in my acceleration and speed were evident on the first ride. The cartridge bearings are so smooth. But as great as these wheels are, Velomax service is even better. I recently took off my freehub to relub it. Disassembly was a breeze with the on-line step-by-step manuals. Does any other wheel maker offer this? NO! Anyway, being a guy and an engineer I didn't carefully read the reassembly instructions so I damaged a bearing installing it. Living in LA, I was able to bring it to your shop and your technician fixed it in an instant. To say I'm delighted with your product and your people is an understatement.

Thanks for great products and service.

Dear Velomax,

I have been riding Velomax wheels since Clark designed the first prototypes. I am not sure how long that is. Perhaps 12 years. The wheels have always been reliable, aero, and reasonably light. The last pair I received was 6 or 7 years ago… and I am still riding them. I generally have ridden the lightest prototypes and models. I have broken one spoke since riding Velomax wheels, probably related to my error in packing, rather than due to design or other manufacturer problem.

Dear Velomax:

In the last year and a half, I've logged over 20,000 hard miles on my Velomax Orion Comps. Prior to using Velomax I have never had a set of wheels that survived even one season, as I tend to be pretty hard on equipment. Not only have the wheels survived, but they are still going strong, and I continue to use the same set for both training and racing.

These are the lightest and strongest wheels that I have ever used in my 14 years of riding. I would have never considered a wheel this light to be capable of holding up under the conditions that I've encountered, and they are by far the best wheels I've ever ridden.

People usually check out what I'm riding, because they know that I break equipment constantly. In fact, I typically break one frame per season. This is the first wheelset that has outsurvived my frame!

I would, and do, highly recommend these wheels to my friends and fellow cyclists. I admit that I don't recommend them to my competitors!

Hi all,

I just wanted you to know that I have run my new Orion Comps for around 300 miles since I purchased them three weeks ago. I am a 195lb rider and they are doing fine. I actually get better sprints (stiff wheels with good drive side lacing) and standing speeds with these wheels even though they are MUCH lighter then my old set. I am seeing an average of 1.5 MPH gain on flats as well. I am able to pick a longer gear and keep it for longer times in to climbs. Thank you for a fantastic product.

To the gang at Velomax.

I just wanted to give you some feedback on your Circuit Comp wheels.

They are great wheels!

These wheels originally came with my Schwinn Fastback bike. I have upgraded to several different frames since then, but have always kept the Circuit wheels. They have continued to be smooth rolling and strong. In the year that I have had them, they have never required any service and have performed as good wheels should. For being your entry level wheels, they measure up well to other brands higher end models. I am riding in the 2002 Aids Ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles and plan on riding on these wheels.

The photo, above is my Trek Y-Foil with the Circuit wheels.

On the way home from a TT in Vancouver, WA, we were in the second lane of the busy I-5 freeway headed back to Portland. My passenger, Debi said that she thought she saw a bungee cord fly off of the bikes. I looked and the bungee was still there but then I just about had a heart attack. My front wheel was gone! I couldn't believe it, my favorite wheel flew off the car at 70 mpg. The best that I have ever owned. They were a joy to ride on. How could it have come off?

It took what seemed like hours to get to an off ramp to turn around. We got into the fast lane, since it seems that everything ends up there. We anticipated the worst, then we saw it laying in the center divide. When I got to the wheel I couldn't believe what I saw. The wheel was laying there, right next to the two pieces of the skewer, looking like nothing had even happened (other than one end cap missing as you can see in the picture).

As near as we can tell, the wheel got run over by at least one car. When we got home I spun the wheel and it was barely out of true! There was a spoke that was bent inward and the broken quick release skewer. I took it to Beckwith Bicycles and gave it to Andy to straighten out for me. When I picked it up, he said he didn't even need any new spokes, that it was fine. I loved these wheels before but now I ride them with an incredible amount of confidence as well.

I ride a Cannondale CAAD3 aluminum frame with Mavic CXP 23s and Shimano Ultegra 32H hubs. Some say this frame is too stiff, but I never thought so. I was about to purchase a new frame but decided to purchase a set of Ascend Comps instead. They arrived promptly, I put them on and so far have only ridden 105 miles in the two days, but the difference is startling. The Ascend Comps decreased my wheel set weight by 485 grams and their superior stiffness is very apparent. I have better acceleration, increased climbing ability, improved stability on descents and I'm feeling less road shock. I previously test rode a carbon frame, with my old wheel set which is of decent quality, when I was thinking about the new frame purchase. That ride was definitely harsher than my CAAD3aluminum frame with the Ascend Comps. Bottom line, I have a softer more responsive ride. This is the best cycling investment I have ever made.

Dear Velomax,

I just wanted to give you an update on how my Velomax wheels were holding up. They are awesome!! I love 'em. Honestly, I don't want to take them off my bike. See, I promised myself that my Velomax's were going to be my "race wheels" and that I would ride my old wheels for off season training and in bad weather. But I'm still riding my Velomax. I understand some wheels are super hi-tech and are very difficult to fix should anything go wrong with them. Hence the term race wheels. Well I don't think that Velomax wheels can be defined that way. I feel that the Velomax wheels are superb race wheels and excellent training wheels as well. Why? Because they are some of the lightest wheels on the market, their performance is equaled by few, AND they are relatively easy to work on.

Regards,
Dan Reback

Hi My name is Kevin Wilson. I ride for Cycles de Oro Junior Elite Cycling, I'm a junior cyclist who has been riding a set of Ascent Comp's for around 6 months now; the ONLY time the wheel has ever come out of true was in a wreck in which I had to jump over a downed rider and rolled the tire off the rim and slid through hay-bales and into the woods. The amazing thing was I didnt break a single-spoke, I was suprised I honestly think if I was riding any other "super-light" race wheel I would have been in the Hospital. I just wanted to let you know how much I love my wheels and to let anyone who is thinking about getting a set of Velomax Wheels needs too.

I received my Orion's comp last night and took them out for my ride this morning. Out of the box, I was very surprised at the actual weight, and the excellent quality. The sealed bearings are excellent.

On the road, the wheels accelerate very quickly and maintained speed with much ease. I just wished my legs and lungs could keep up with them!!!!! . If the wheels retain these qualities over the long haul, the purchase would have been worth while and will confirm the pride which you have in your product. When shopping for my new wheels I looked at the usual lineup, Ksyrium, Spinergy, Campy Neutron, and other custom options. The people I spoke to said that Velomax wheels did not compare to Ksyrium nor the Campy wheels, and that I should invest in either of the two and forget Velomax. Next time I speak to them, I will have to tell them that they are right. Velomax does not compare to either of the two, it is a far superior product, and it comes in a much lighter weight and cheaper tag.

I must also bring to your attention my satisfaction with the customer service provided by both your technical and sales staff. Very courteous and took the time to answer my questions, which where many. They were superb in guaranteeing that the wheels where shipped out the same day, (and I called 45 minutes prior to UPS pick up). Kudos.

I am not in the habit of writing notes like these, but also working a customer oriented business, I also like to hear when we do something right. Keep up the good work,

Dear Velomax,

I thought I'd keep you posted on how your wheels are holding up on my Co-Motion cross bike. I put Orions on and we've all been curious how they would perform. After a year of rain road riding, two months of cross training and one race (so far) they are straight as the day I put them on. I admit that I've been harder than necessary on them just so I could find any weak spots. So far perfect. During all of the high speed descents and full skid turns I've never felt anything other than secure. I love the way my bike handles and a big part of that is your wheels.

Velomax:

Just received my new wheel set (Circuit rear/Ascent Front). Before using them, I weighed them and my stock wheels. The weight savings (660 grams) was, ineffect, the weight of a wheel! Now that I'm not riding a 'tricycle' the difference even in my low end bike is remarkable. As impressed as I am with the improved acceleration and overall pace increase, I am much more impressed with the ride quality. The difference over the junky asphalt is remarkable. Also the rear hub doesn't 'skip' or 'rachet-out' under hard acceleration (which my stock hub did from the first day I rode my bike). I also noticed I don't scrub off as much speed when coasting through a tight high speed curve.

Although I hesitated to spend a sum on wheels nearly equal to my bike new, I am pleased with the investment. When I go to upgrade my frame and components, I"ll already have the best wheels!

WOW!!! I decided that my year old Sadona orange Klein Quantum Race would look better with black walled wheels instead of the fuchsia colored wheels that it came stock with . My first choice for replacement were XXXX XXXXXX XXX because I could get them in black. But once I became aware of the cost I was to incur just for cosmetic reasons, I decided to see what was the best wheel out there that I could get in black that cost under $800. After reading testimonials, talking to cyclist, and discussing it with my North New Jersey bike store tech, Velomax could be my only choice. They are lighter (probably the lightest clincher wheel under $1000) and not as costly as the other wheels I considered. They are lighter with clincher and tube then my XXXXXX XXXXX without clincher and tube.

Now that they are on the bike lets see what they will do... My face is slightly sore from big grins as I sprinted up hills, accelerated from a rolls or stand stills, and came down steep hills with taking curves at speeds in access of 45mph. Thanks for being there for me.

Gentlemen,

After much research and discussion with the shop that I race for and builds my bikes, I decided to give your wheels a try. (not an easy decision to reach based on the fact that "my" shop is an authorized XXXXX dealer). I live in the northeast and got your wheels in the middle of October so I was only able to ride them for about three weeks before the weather went bad. In that short amount of time, I must say, I fell in love with them. (accent comp) There is now a waiting list at the shop of people who want to try them. I road everything XXXXX had to offer and even the new offerings by XXXXXXXX. Nothing came close. I think it's safe to say, based on the head to head comparison, Velomax is about to become the wheel of choice with the people I ride with. My congratulations on building such a superior wheel.

Thank you,

Dear Velomax:

A set of Orion Wheels were purchased for my wife to be ridden on a cross-country tour. The tour was along the Trans America trail starting in Yorktown, VA in April 2000 and finishing in Florence, OR in July 2000. The trip was made by 17 women and organized by Women Tours, all over 50 years old. Total mileage was 4200 miles over varying terrain; some smooth and some very rough. Two amazing observations: 1) She had no flats, and 2) the wheel set after 4200 miles was still perfectly true. I couldn't believe that a wheel set could take that kind of punishment and remain true.

Sincerely,
Tom Hendricks

PS. No other wheel set survived in the same condition as the Velomax Wheels.

I have just over 300 miles on my Velomax Ascent Pro wheels now and I have to write to tell you how great the wheels are. I have been a Velomax customer for many years and I believe these are the best set of wheels yet! Not only are they strong, they are very comfortable on the road. I feel very confident on descends, on rough pavement, and through the corners. The best benefit of the Ascent Pro's is that they accelerate very quickly, the Carbon rims make a world of difference. I just got back from the local Early Bird Criteriums in Fremont. My race wound up in a field sprint and I placed in the top 10. I guess another benefit of the Ascent Pro's is that they sprint well also. I can't thank you guys enough for the great job and I wish you the best in 2001.

Gentlemen:

It is with great pleasure that I am now ordering my second pair of Velomax wheels. This order is too long in coming but since my first pair are still in "showroom" condition I am not replacing them as with most wheels but am adding them to my arsenal for a new bike I am currently building.

I had my original set since your inception (riding on them for two years now - troublefree) and have yet to find any flaw or faults with them after many mega miles. In the meantime I have had to replace almost every other product on my bike. As one of the larger riders on the circuit (250 lbs) I have been amazed at their durability.

As a serious endurance cyclist facing a new season it is with great appreciation for your company and its products that I await the arrival of my new Tempest comp. Your wheels are the one component of my gear that I don't have to anticipate on repairing during an event.

Hi Guys:

Just wanted you to know that I have been having a hard time with the Velomax wheels which you sent me about 6 months ago.

I made the mistake of allowing my wife to use them. The hard time has been in trying to get them back from her.

I was using them on the West Palm Beach Bicycle Clubs "Tour of Sebring" labor day weekend and fell. Returning to the Hotel where the club "headquarters" were for the weekend - my wife was working the club desk (instead of riding with me). Seeing the blood and scrapes her very first comment was "what happened?" As I explained that I had fallen her second comment was "you didn't hurt THE WHEELS did you." After assuring her that the Velomax's were OK she then asked if I was OK.

As one of your heavier rider at about 250# with gear on I assure that the Velomax will take the abuse and the long distance.

They are the greatest.

Thanks,
Jim Corbitt UCMA, RUSA, PBP, Endurance Rider, VELOMAX USER

PS: Just rode Colorado Copper Mtn. Triangle Ride this past weekend. Four Mtn. passes. My wife rode on the Velomax wheels because of the secure feel they give on high speed descents.

I visit shows in Cologne, Germany, Milan, Italy, etc. Of all that I see, your wheels are the best new product. The Velomax wheels are beautiful."

"Velomax wheels are the strongest spoked wheels I've ever ridden. They are also the lightest wheels I've ever ridden. I was converted at the 1999 Boulder Roubaix Road Race. The race is 86 miles, about 70% of which is contested on unimproved dirt roads! With just 18 spokes on the front and 24 on the rear, and lighter than a pair of XXXXXX's, I was sure something would fail catastrophically after carrying me over gravel, wash board and potholes for three hours. Not only did they survive, they survived with virtually no signs of wear! Both wheels were as true as when I bought them and the rims were unscathed. These wheels are everything you want a wheel to be: light, stiff, strong, comfortable and responsive. If the Boulder-Roubaix can't break them, I'm not sure what can! Velomax wheels are my weapon of choice!"

"I have been riding your wheels for some time now and think that they are the best set on the market. My customers have heard me rave about my bomb-proof wheels and want some for themselves."

" ..when I hear the road riders talking about high-end components, and the conversation turns to wheels, the name Velomax is always mentioned, your wheels have come to be known as the best road wheels on the market. That says a lot when you're talking about picky road riders! All the wheels that we've received from you have been flawless. Thanks for taking such a great product and giving it life."

" I bought a set of XXXXXX's and headed out in search of other parts. I saw your wheels for the first time, and realized that I had made a mistake. Your hub design is are truly a work of art. Your spoke and bearing systems are very advanced."

"Velomax wheels are almost always my favorite wheel choice for training or racing"

"Just wanted to let you know how my wheels held up in Belgium. Perfect - no problem whatsoever. The course was less than 100 miles from the home of ADA wheels, but several of the European racers flipped at your wheels. The wheels were part of the best cross bike on the planet. I was the only racer from the US this year, did great, and will take your wheels on the road soon."

...and from the same rider,

" I recently won the Tour of Illinois and Wisconsin using the Velomax wheels exclusively. This was an 11 stage race that included road races, crits, a time trial and points race. The conditions were often horrible - cold, rain, wind - and the wheels were awesome in all conditions."

" I estimate that I have put at least seven or eight thousand miles on these wheels. I have not experienced a single problem with the wheels over all these miles. This is remarkable considering my 195 pound body and the very aggressive riding style that our racing club pursues. I have three other wheel sets, but I prefer to ride the Velomax because of their lightness, strength and versatility."

"Recently, I purchased one of you Tempest wheel systems. The reason for this letter is to tell you how impressed I am by the thought and design engineering that has gone into your product, as well as your product's performance. I am an active cyclist, riding an average of 7000-8000 miles per year. In deciding which wheel set to buy, I studied the design and engineering of aerodynamic wheels produced by your main competitors. With a minimally spoked wheel, your design by far provides the strongest structure. As impressed as I am with the engineering design of your wheel system, I am even more impressed with their performance. In steep, winding descents, executing turns with a substantial lean over, your wheels were ROCK SOLID! With only 18 and 24 spokes front and rear respectively, your wheels overall performed as well as, if not better, than any regular 32 spoked wheels I have previously ridden. Thank you for offering a better engineered alternative in the marketing-hyped aerodynamic wheel arena."

" I race on average around 60 races a year, and put in about 8-10 thousand miles in a season. I take my riding very seriously and I take my equipment equally as serious. These are hands-down the best set of wheels I have ever put on any of my Bicycles. I believe that the design of these hubs is perfect. I have, for years, told my fellow competitors about these great wheels."

"I reluctantly write this letter, since I would prefer to keep these comments from my competitors in the peleton. I am a practicing engineer and have built many of my own wheels in the past. Prior to purchasing your wheels, I investigated your design in light of the things I have learned about good and bad design. Needless to say, the linear loaded spokes are the most stable design you could have. ..my first riding experience came yesterday. The wheels I have been riding recently also have sealed bearings and are very light, so I was not expecting a significant increase in performance. I was wrong. The difference in a number of areas was quite noticeable. The ability to accelerate was surprising. The stability of the wheels was substantially greater. I found the wheels to be very stable and predictable in tight corners. Suffice to say that I am very impressed with your wheels for both design and manufacture. The workmanship is some of the highest quality I have seen in any product. I have a 40 mile course that I ride to test my conditioning and equipment. I rode that course yesterday in record time. The proof is in the performance. They are truly the best wheels I have ever ridden."

" I just got a Litespeed Vortex with Velomax Ascent Comps. Great combo. Was going to get XXXXXX's but was advised to go Velomax. Beautiful wheels!"

" Talk about a quick wind-up, I just could not believe how fast I got up to speed! Yet-I think the best thing about the wheels is the climbing. Between the lateral stiffness of the rear wheel and the feathery weight of the pair, I'm going uphill at least one to two cogs higher - the feeling is unreal! Velomax is Formula One all the way!"

" I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know the Orion wheel set I just put on my Ibis Spanky is soooo sweeeeet! Your wheels are light, fast and durable. Sonoma county roads can get pretty rough and the Orion's just seem to stay true. Plus they look tight! I'll recommend your wheels to anyone who asks me how I like mine. Keep up the great work, guys!"
