Great fit and interface between the
handlebar and stem is crucial. Traditional 2-bolt and even 4-bolt
designs still allow loads to place extra stress on the bolts, which
intern will twist and eventually fatigue.
While working with our
test lab technicians, Easton engineers found that by locking down
the top of the faceplate of the stem before tightening the bottom
bolts allows the stem and handlebar interface to tighten, offering
better load transfer more efficiently while minimizing loads on the
bolts.
